ADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM
We believe that this program will not only enhance the aesthetics of our campus but also strengthen the bonds within our campus community. By participating in the "Adopt-a-Street" Program, your organization can be a driving force in creating a cleaner and more sustainable Auraria campus.
We are thrilled to introduce a new initiative that brings together the spirit of community engagement and sustainability right here on our campus. Metropolitan State University, University of Colorado Denver, and the Community College of Denver are in collaboration with the Auraria Sustainability Campus Program to create the "Adopt-a-Street" Program.
How does it work?
1. Complete training: Each member of your organization will be required to complete a safety training prior to your first cleanup. This information will be given to you upon registration to share with your organization.
2. Adopt a street: Student organizations will be given a zone on the Auraria campus to "adopt" and commit to maintaining it throughout the academic year.
3. Regular cleanups: Your organization will be responsible for conducting regular cleanups of the adopted road. We encourage your members to participate in these cleanups to promote teamwork and a sense of community.
4. Recognition: Once your organization completes a certain number of cleanups, we will proudly display your organization's name on a sign along the adopted road. This sign will showcase your dedication and continuous support for a cleaner and more sustainable campus.
