2014 Auraria Sustainability Fair

This year’s Auraria Campus Sustainability Fair which will be held on Monday April 28th from 10am-2pm. We will have 30+ sustainability-minded organizations in attendance, along with many fun activities like a climbing wall, live music, and a Car2Go Parallel Parking Challenge.


Auraria Campus E-Waste Recycling Event 2014

On Tuesday April 22nd, the Sustainable Campus Program (SCP) will be sponsoring a “free” electronic waste recycling event for the Auraria Campus community (faculty, students, and staff) in honor of Earth Day! Drop off your unwanted electronics at Tivoli Square (9th and Larimer) between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Heavy items? Drive up to the 30 minute loading zone to the west of Tivoli (view map here). Volunteers will be available help you unload.

Join the Sustainable Campus Program (SCP) on Monday, August 19th from 10am to 2pm for the 2013 Auraria Sustainability Fair @ the Tivoli Commons! We will be giving away BIKES to three lucky winners who picked up their raffle ticket from the SCP table. Be there at 12pm sharp as the new Region 8 EPA Administrator Shaun McGrath announces the winners. PLUS join us for a climbing wall, obstacle course, and over 30 community organizations promoting sustainability. We will also be giving away a free iPad for best logo design for the 5th Street Hub (sustainability and entrepreneurship center). See you there!

The 2012 Auraria Campus Sustainability Fair

April 23rd, 2012 from 10am to 4pm.

In addition to live entertainment, local food, and great prizes, this year’s fair will feature the “Closed Loop Food Cycle.” Come learn about our food system, what’s unsustainable about it, and how we can fix it for the health of our community and our planet! There will also be many vendors and organizations representing each of the Sustainable Campus Program’s categories including renewable energy, energy efficiency, water efficiency, alternative transportation, waste diversion, and food/gardens.

Get caught “green” handed on campus

and you’ll get a raffle ticket to win big prizes at the fair.

  • Turn off a light when you leave the room!
  • Recycle on campus and compost in the Tivoli!
  • Ride your bike and take mass transit!
  • Bring a reusable water bottle!
  • Eat healthy!

8:30am – 9:30am: Vendor check-in

10:00am: MC will introduce the fair and welcome all to the 2012 Sustainability Fair, Earth Day at Auraria.

10:00am – 12:00pm: Knowledge about sustainability will be shared with students, faculty, staff and community members.

12:00pm: District 1 City Councilwomen Susan Shepherd will be speaking and answering questions on behalf of the sustainable efforts that are being taken by the City and County of Denver.

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Raffle that features two cruisers from Recycle Bicycle, Patagonia gear, assorted plants, and additional items.

1:30pm – 4:00pm: Knowledge will continue to be shared with students, faculty, staff and community members.

*Campus traffic will start to slow down after 3:00 and after this time companies/vendors may leave at any time.
